auDHD.co.za is South Africa’s community guide to AuDHD — being both autistic and ADHD — and to autism and ADHD on their own.
Why we exist
Searches for “AuDHD” in South Africa grew about tenfold in the past year, yet most local information is scattered across clinic websites and overseas blogs. People kept asking the same questions: Is this me? Where do I get assessed? What does Concerta cost? Does my medical aid pay? We built the site we wish we had found.
Who it is for
- Adults — late-diagnosed, burnt out at work, recently diagnosed, or wondering if they might be neurodivergent. Go to the Adults hub.
- Parents — whose child has been diagnosed, or who think their child might be autistic or ADHD. Go to the Kids & Parents hub.
What we are — and are not
We are a community of neurodivergent people and parents who research carefully and link to our sources. We are not medical professionals and are not registered with the HPCSA. Read our medical disclaimer and editorial policy.
Why “Au”?
Au is the chemical symbol for gold — and the gold infinity symbol is one many autistic people choose for themselves. It reminds us that neurodivergent minds are worth understanding, not fixing.
